Kaj Helin

Kaj Helin is a Principal scientist in virtual engineering area. He is a Certified Project Manager IPMA level C. Helin managing the mixed reality facilities in VTT Tampere. Helin has participated and managed several ESA, EU and national projects. Kaj Helin joined VTT in 1998 and has gained 25 years of experience in virtual/augmented reality, simulation, safety analysis, ergonomics and usability. Helin is a member of the following committees - Executive Committee of EuroXR Association - IEA-Technical Committee on Human Simulation and Virtual Environments


Exploiting XR in novel cabin concepts and operator support

This presentation will introduce how to exploit XR in novel cabin concepts and operator support. There will be two use cases of designing and evaluating the novel cabin concept with XR features with end-user. The use cases are 1) mining machine, and 2) tram. Also, future implementation of XR supported remote operation will be introduced. At the end of the presentation the EuroXR Association will be introduced and with details of how to exploit it in XR dissemination.
