The latest advances in floor mat technology will be showcased at iVT Expo by Blachford UK, part of Blachford Acoustics Group. Four brand-new products will be unveiled at the show by the company, which is a leading UK designer, engineer and manufacturer of acoustic components for industrial and agricultural vehicles.
Blachford is targeting the agricultural equipment sector, specifically tractors, with its new floor mat technology, which is designed to deliver heavy truck longevity to floor mats within tractor cabs, benefitting both operator comfort and re-sale.
Research by the Institute for Agricultural and Earthmoving Machines (IMAMOTER), found that workspace characteristics affect the perceived comfort level of the operator and uncomfortable working conditions have been found to have a negative impact on productivity and safety. The comfort of the operator is increasingly recognized by manufacturers as a product’s added value and can increase its attractiveness within the buyers’ arena.
Patrick Thompson, sales director at Blachford UK, says, “With our new floor mat range for tractors, we are challenging the accepted norm within the industry. The advancement of tractor technology means that operators now spend many hours in their cab and they are demanding similar levels of comfort and durability that heavy truck drivers now have.” Alongside the new range of tractor cab floor mats, Blachford will also present its full range of polyurethane and acoustic products.
